Armin Hanika - Natural Torres Cedar Option 630/50
About the luthier
At HANIKA, craftsmanship is regarded as tailor-made precision and sound as art. The manufacture in Baiersdorf traces its roots to Helmut Hanika, who founded the SOLI company in 1953 after learning violin making through the family workshop tradition of his grandfather, Anton Mayer. As demand changed, Helmut Hanika moved from folk guitar production toward high-quality classical guitars, establishing the name Hanika as a respected German reference for refined hand-built instruments.
Since 1993, the company has been led by Armin Hanika, the second generation of the family. Under his direction, HANIKA continues to combine experienced handcraft, carefully selected materials, and modern construction concepts across a wide range of classical guitars, from the Studio Line to the specially made instruments of the Professional Line.
About the guitar
The Hanika Natural Torres Cedar Option 630/50 belongs to the Professional Line and brings the warmth of a cedar soundboard into a compact, highly approachable concert format. Its traditional construction, combined with an asymmetrically weighted domed top, gives the guitar a quick and natural response, allowing the sound to open easily under the hands while retaining a rounded tonal core. Indian rosewood back and sides add depth and definition, supporting a voice that is warm, clear, and substance-rich without becoming heavy.
Musically, this model offers crisp articulation, good responsiveness, and a balanced relationship between attack and sustain. The cedar top gives the first contact with the string an immediate softness, while the rosewood body helps the notes retain focus and separation. This makes the guitar well suited to players who value a lyrical sound, clean detail in the inner voices, and a comfortable sense of control across different repertoire.
The Natural surface treatment keeps the instrument visually understated and tactile, allowing the wood to remain close to the player while giving the guitar a practical, lightly protected finish. The reinforced cedro neck contributes stability, while the compact 630 mm scale and 50 mm nut width make the instrument especially comfortable for players seeking reduced dimensions without leaving the Professional Line. Rubner El Sonido tuners and a Hanika Hiscox Pro II case complete the model with reliable functionality for regular use.
